In just two years, Charlotte Clean and Green has become the premier environmental and sustainability–focused event in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Region. In fact, the 2009 Charlotte Clean and Green festival qualified the City of Charlotte as one of the top 15 cities on Earth Day according to the EcoFactory. This will be the largest and best opportunity to sponsor an environmental and sustainable event in 2010.
Your support is critical to our success and we value your commitment to our event and our community. If sustainability and environmental citizenship are a part of your corporate image and message, then Charlotte Clean and Green is the ideal venue to enhance your position in the community.
In 2009 attendance at Charlotte Clean and Green grew from 1,800 to almost 4,000. Our goal for 2010 is 7,500 participants at the Saturday festival with high visibility and recognition of all sponsors before, during and after the event. Charlotte Clean and Green will collaborate with groups and departments such as the CPCC Center for Sustainability, the Central Piedmont Sierra Club, Charlotte Center City Partners, the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and the USGBC Charlotte Region Chapter to plan and promote the festival.
In 2009 we promoted the event to the green and the not–so–green, families and singles, across all age groups and to numerous interfaith and social groups. We'll expand our audience in 2010 for even greater diversity and utilize print media, direct marketing, press releases, radio, television and other vehicles.
One of the high points of the festival is the free, quality educational programs for adults. With over 25 classes and programs, your sponsorship helps to underwrite these sessions that help increase environmental awareness and teach new skills and knowledge for the protecting our world. In 2010 Charlotte Clean and Green will expand its educational efforts to engage the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, the Hornets Net Chapter Girls Scouts, the Mecklenburg County Council Boy Scouts of America, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library, the Charlotte YMCA and local College and University offices of sustainability and environmental groups.
The 2009 festival was recognized as a model green event. Custom designed recycling centers, carbon neutral credits, extensive composting and more made this a truly unique and special event and will be expanded in 2010.
Charlotte Clean and Green will be associated with the week long arts and music festival, Central Piedmont Community College's Sensoria. This means greater sponsor awareness over the full week in addition to the Saturday festival.
