Jim Gleeson, AIA, principal of Jim Gleeson, Design Integration,PLLC, was formerly director of Smart@Little, the sustainable design initiative at Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, one of the nation's top A&E firms.

He was Chair of the AIACharlotte Committee On The Environment in 2002 and 2003 and has been published in numerous trade magazines and journals including EnvironDesignJournal.

In 2004 he started Jim Gleeson, AIA/Design Integration to put his design, technology and sustainability expertise to work on building holistically designed, green, custom homes. He is proving that in residential, as in commercial architecture, the added value of "green" does not have to cost more. His homes, in both contemporary and traditional styles, achieve a high level of passive solar and green resource efficiency, comfort and health.

His work in the area of object‐based 3D technology has been highlighted in Architectural Record and CADalyst magazines. He has been a speaker on AEC technology on the floor of both the AIA national convention (2001) and the AEC Technology convention(2002). While with Little, he lead the Revit Technology, Early Adopter Pilot Program starting with the beta release of Revit in 1998.

Mr. Gleeson spoke at the National Facilities Management&&Technology Convention on both Sustainable Design/Management and Building Information Modeling Technology in 2004 and at the AIA National Convention Technology in Practice Conference in Las Vegas, 2005. He has been a LEED Accredited Professional since May of 2001, one of the first in the Carolinas.

He was lead designer and sustainable design consultant for the University of South Carolina West Quad Living/Learning Center,gaining a LEED Silver rating and becoming the first LEED certified campus project in the U.S. It is believed to be the first LEED Certified project designed with BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology.

Mr Gleeson currently has custom green homes under construction in both North and South Carolina and is working with both EarthCraft House and NC HealthyBuilt Homes programs.
