Mike Beaver is President of Beaver Brothers, Inc. A graduate engineer of NC State University, Mike is a third generation leader who with his brother Trip runs one of the leading solar thermal installation companies in the state. Founded in 1919 by their grandfather, Beaver Brothers has been in the solar heating business since the days of the oil embargo in the 1970s. Mike and his brother grew up taking hot showers provided by the solar water heating system installed in their home by their father in the 1960s. A pioneer in the solar heating business, Clarence Beaver, along with three other gentlemen started the NC Solar Energy Association which eventually became the NC Sustainable Energy Association of today.

Along with solar thermal installations, Beaver Brothers also specializes in energy efficient HVAC systems, including radiant floor heating and geothermal energy systems going into the green, energy efficient “NC Healthy Built Homes” program homes.
